Paul Krugman ...

MAKES a compelling argument for investigating both torture and the "march to war" and, where appropriate, prosecutions of those held accountable. (I've wondered, ever since the McCarthy hearings of the 1950s, why Republicans in particular think we're a better country when we act with the same immoral and venal lawlessness as our adversaries.)

Here's something ...

FOR the local school board — and it's tax-hating critics. As my late father-in-law would say when his daughters would complain about school, "Well, let's just stay home and be ignorant." Maybe that's what too many parts of the country has been doing?
